Al Nassma (the gentle breeze rolling in from the desert. Bar and Cocoa) started the camel milk chocolate factory around 2007/2008. Camel Milk with low fat and higher salt content along with chocolate beans from Tanzania and vanilla beans from Madagasgar produces a premium chocolate. Presently, there are several types of chocolate bars some with almonds, hazelnuts, white chocolate with pistachios, and dates. Xocolatl was established in 2014 founders were influenced by trying chocolate in the markets of Costa Rica.
While tasting the various chocolates were surprised and inspired to find the flavor of the chocolate was different depending where the cacao was farmed in the region. The Founders of Xocolatl excited by the variety of flavors in the Costa Rican chocolate decided to establish their chocolate making business.
Xocolatl offers tours and tastings.
The tours through the chocolate making process are approximately 1 hour. Then those on the tour will have the opportunity to taste the chocolate with ethically sourced cacao from around the world.
Fine & Raw Chocolate
The Founder made small batches of chocolate and started delivering them on a bicycle to fine food establishments. Then in 2007 established Fine and Raw Chocolate in .Brooklyn, NY. Cacao is sourced from ethical suppliers in Belize and Ecuador. Fine & Raw Chocolate supports positive change and a long term goal is to be a fully solar powered factory.
