And the second book is an historical fiction about Mary Cassett who moved to Paris with her sister Lydia in 1874 and stayed the rest of her life. Her first apartment was on the Rue du Laval (now Victor Masse) known for homes and studios of artists.
When Mary Cassett’s parents moved to Paris in 1878 she moved into their home at 13 Avenue Trudaine near Montmartre (1878-1884).
Mary Cassett was the second woman besides Berthe Morisot to be invited to the Impressionists group. Mary Cassett’s invitation came from Edgar Degas.
Towards the latter part of Mary Cassett’s life her family lived at 10 Rue de Marignon (1887-1926) where a plaque is posted. Mary Cassett also resided at a chateau in the Paris suburbs – Beaufresne.
